African SMEs face a myriad of challenges from shallow capital markets to skills shortages. Yet for African economies to grow, the development of this business segment is crucial. The GIZ approach is to help professionalize business incubators, so they become a safe space for, in this case, tech companies to thrive. Emergo is currently coordinating communications for the SADC component of the Make-IT in Africa programme, compassing 16 markets and six focus countries. We assist GIZ through developing a communication strategy, design, copywriting and social media training and content creation.
